stessa mano, stessi giorni, diversi stili... same hand, same days, different styles...

Poi...

Yesterday, february the 3rd, I went with Laura Frankstone to visit the National Roman Museum while snow started to fall over Rome. Laura is a splendid artist -and person-whom I met through Sketching in Nature and, following her blog, I read she was coming to Rome. So we met and went sketching in the magnificent Museum. I picked this particular "backside" view :one because it was fun, two because I could sit down on mine! So, for a classic subjct, I chose the "classic" pencil and shading. Then...

E oggi...

Gel pens for a quick sketch, while Laura filled a page with different corners of the place. And today...

Today Rome woke up solidly white, playful, quiet, calm...so much snow to fill with enchantment a normally neurotic and rushed city. My garden looked perfect, immaculate: no traces of the works and of the poor lawn...
The medlar tree in the neighbouring garden had acquired an interesting pose, all bent by the wind and weight. So I dedicated a few minutes to the dark areas, with a Tombo pen held lightly. I could have done better but my feet were freezing!
