A week-end spent with friends in their fantastic house in Veroli. Two indoor sketches with a gel pen, very suitable for fluid hatching and very smooth, liquid drawing. Bleeds nicely on absorben cheap Chinese sketchbook. A watercolour realized in front of a very ancient arch in the Old Citadel of Arpino. The cyclopic walls and gateway date back to the VIII-VII cent. b.C. and are in the Greek style.
Oh my, all three are very beautiful. I am especially fond of the first one. Love the detail of the flowers and the table against the less detailed background.

thank you Betsi, I agree that the composition and the wash , together with the warmth of the paper, give a deeper atmosphere to the fist sketch. I'm off to London for an extended week, and I plan to fill in that sktchbook with the gel pen-its great fun.
